ESPN America’s LIVE coverage of the NHL continues with the Rangers,
Red Wings, Blackhawks, the 100th anniversary of the Canadiens and more
The National Hockey League (NHL) continues LIVE all month on ESPN America, opening with the Montreal Canadiens hosting their centennial game against the Boston Bruins, the team that ousted them in the first round of last year’s Eastern Conference playoffs. The Bruins return favored in the East, joined by the Washington Capitals and defending champion Pittsburgh Penguins. Catch the Penguins – led by the slick duo of Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin, the league scoring champ – in action this month against the tough New York Rangers and Philadelphia Flyers, while the Capitals – home to the NHL’s leading goal scorer and reigning MVP, Alex Ovechkin – take on the surging Colorado Avalanche.
NCAA FOOTBALL
NCAA College Football wraps the regular season early this month and continues with coverage on ESPN America of select championship games plus a full lineup of Bowl Games, the traditional closers to a season of NCAA football. While January’s BCS Bowl Games – the Rose, Sugar, Orange, and Fiesta, all airing LIVE on ESPN America – are considered the most prestigious match ups, December always has a tasty variety of Bowl Games spotlighting successful squads who had a strong season but came up short of the BCS games.
NCAA COLLEGE BASKETBALL
Top-flight college hoops continues all month on ESPN Americawith coverage of the NCAA
True basketball fans know that the college game is played with a passion and competitive drive that makes it electrifying from the first dunk to the last. ESPN America’s season coverage of NCAA Men’s College Basketball – spotlighting all the major conferences including the Big 12, Big Ten, Big East, ACC and SEC – continues in December with games from a popular early-season tournament played at Madison Square Garden, the Jimmy V Classic, as well as a full lineup of top regular season games.
It promises to be a spectacular season, with early-season favorites including the Big 12’s Kansas and Texas, the Big Ten’s Michigan State and Purdue, SEC powers Kentucky and Tennessee, and traditional ACC favorites Duke and mighty North Carolina, the defending national champion.
